Recording

How do you record guitars?
+

We’ve got a great setup for recording guitars.

The heads are in the control room, so the guitar player listens through the large monitors.

This gives us the advantage of tweaking the heads from the control room.

The cabinets are in the studio.

We have a custom guitar patch bay which allows us to patch any head to any cabinet.

Do you use drum replacement plugins?
+

Yes, we do but we DO NOT replace our drum recordings!

We use drum samples ONLY for layering, not for replacing.

How long does it take to record a song?
+

It depends on many factors such as style of music and quality of musicians.

And most importantly BUDGET.

And also depends on the quality of recording desired. Is this for a demo or album quality?

Talk to us about your project and we’ll give you a quote.

Do you do pre-production?
+

Yes!

Actually, we encourage all artists to do a pre-production session with us.

This not only saves precious studio time but it helps musicians prepare for the session.

How do you mic the drums?
+

We usually mic everything.

Every drum is miked. Kick, snare have 2 mics.

If time permits, we’ll do top & bottom on toms as well.

We also mic overhead and distant rooms.

Usually 16 inputs for drums.

This gives us a lot of options at mix time.
